Psalm 28

I love psalms that remind me of the Lord’s authority and glory in all the earth. There is no part of creation over which the Lord is not King and through which the Lord is not glorified.

The word ascribe is interesting to me. We do not make the Lord glorious or strong. We have no say as to whether or not He is holy or not. Rather, we may ascribe to Him the glory that is due Him. We can recognize and name what is already true. The waters and thunders and cedars and calves and dear and floods all remind us of what is already true. The Lord is God.

Then what glorious joy that the Lord gives strength to His people.

Proverbs 10:28–30

“The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the blameless.” Do I hide, run to, stand strong in the command of the Lord? Do I think of the way of the Lord as a place of safety for me? Or do I feel the command of the Lord as a burden that robs me of joy?
